Oil on Wood

12" x 12"

I am a New Jersey based artist balancing a career as a painter and teaching on the college level. After studying fine art at Cornell University for two years, I transferred to Parsons School of Design where I earned my BFA. Prior to earning an MFA at William Paterson University, I worked as an editorial illustrator and graphic designer. My work is in many private collections.

The Bath series portray the figure transitioning in and out of the bathtub as a symbol of renewal, as she engages in a transformative experience through the sound, light, color and the continual motion of the water. I paint with loose and gestural brushwork, layering color to suggest the movement of time, and the transformation of the figure within these intimate scenes.
