ARTIST BIOGRAPHY / STATEMENT
For over 30 years, I’ve enjoyed working in art and photography. I earned a BS degree in design from the University of Cincinnati, was accepted into Ansel Adam’s workshop in the early 1980’s, and studied with George Tice at The New School. I apply the darkroom, design, and photography expertise I learned from studying with these masters to my work using today’s digital tools.
My work has been exhibited in exhibitions both nationally and internationally and has received various awards. My photographs have been used for many advertising and editorial projects, one of the most notable being the cover image for the book and movie, “Snow Falling on Cedars” by David Guterson.
Today I photograph both locally in Saugerties and around the world with my wife Wendy, capturing the nature and landscape that surrounds us. Combining this natural beauty with the limitless visuals that are possible with modern tools is truly exciting.
