Winfield-Burns has a Merit Award for fresco from the National Academy of Design. Her oil portrait of Oscar Wilde is in the Permanent Collection of Manhattan's Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art. She was an early student of Allen Ginsberg at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics and is an alumna of Columbia University. Her illustrated memoir is expected 2017 in bookstores.
