Nature’s story can be captured by the constant and vigilant eye. Through the camera lens Robert Goldwitz weaves texture, composition and light to reveal nature’s diversity. A sublime location for this process is the Hudson Valley: From the ancient sentinel rocks of the Shawangunks, Catskills and Taconics to the ever-changing estuaries, swaths of forest and undulating farmlands, grand to intimate, his photographs transport the viewer to a singular time and place.
The photography of Robert Goldwitz captures opportune moments that speak to the heart of his subject. With a keen eye for composition, light and detail, Robert seeks subjects that range from the purely realistic to the evocatively abstract, using the full frame in all of his work to capture and comment on an instant in time. A Manhattan native and a Hudson Valley resident, his passion for the visual arts has carried him through a thirty-year career in photography, film and video.
Robert Goldwitz’s award-winning photography has been featured in fine art shows in New York City, the metropolitan area, Key West and elsewhere. His photography can be found in private collections from Norway to Brazil, South Africa to Japan. Robert’s stock photography has been featured in scores of educational, editorial, theatrical, governmental and corporate venues. His video work can be seen at the Rose Center of Earth and Space, at the American Museum of Natural History, NYC.
