Mixed media collage in shadow box
12" x 9"
There is a spiritual component to my work and often political and social commentary as well. Some pieces incorporate an element of surrealism and/or humor. My collages and mixed media pieces typically combine various materials and techniques. It is the process of taking disparate elements and changing them into a cohesive whole that attracts me to creating collages and assemblages. The elements of chance, the interaction of shape, texture and color as well as conscious and subconscious thought and feeling all contribute to the final piece.
