Hilary Lander was a student at classes at the Brooklyn Museum from the age of 10. Fast forward through a brief stint at the High School of Music and Art, a B.A in art from Hunter College, Masters in Art Education from Brooklyn College onto classes at Parsons, and then short career in textile design. Then came family and a teaching career. Throughout the learning process her work evolved. Most of her current work is landscape painting, inspired by her move to the Hudson Valley.
The colors are key; sometimes bold, sometimes subtle, always inviting the viewer into the space, to rest, to observe and to enjoy!
