Emerge Gallery & Art Space presents the first annual group exhibition, “Petit: A Group Exhibition of Smaller Sized Art ” to be held at Emerge Gallery & Art Space in Saugerties, NY, from November 4 - 28, 2016. This exhibition is open to all artists working in all media, with the exception of installation and video art. There is no particular subject theme for this exhibition, aside from the artwork being smaller in size.
ELIGIBILITY AND RESTRICTIONS: The exhibition is open to all artists, national and international, working in most media. Entries must be created in a still medium: painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, digital, prints, fiber art, collage, etc. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Works must not be larger than 16" by 20” framed.
EXHIBITION: Selection of artists will be made by Emerge Gallery & Art Space curator Robert Langdon. Artists chosen to participate in “Petit: A Group Exhibition of Smaller Sized Art” will be featured in a group exhibition at Emerge Gallery & Art Space from November 4 - 28, 2016. The exhibition will also be exhibited and art work available for sale on the Emerge Gallery & Art Space web site www.emergegalleryny.com. Up to four pieces from each artist may be chosen for inclusion in "Petit". The artists and exhibition will be extensively marketed with numerous press releases to local, national and international press; extensive social media marketing and outreach; targeted on-line advertising and promotion; and event calendar listings. One artist selected to participate in "Petit" will be awarded a separate solo exhibition held at Emerge Gallery & Art Space in Saugerties, NY, at a later date. The solo exhibition is not limited to small sized art.
EXHIBITION TERMS: All works in the exhibit must be for sale. Emerge Gallery & Art Space will retain a 25% commission on all sales. Retail sale price is determined by the artist in consultation with the curator.
ENTRY FEES: There is a $20.00 entry fee for up to two artworks entered by digital JPG image files. There is a $5.00 fee for each additional artwork above two submitted. Artists accepted to exhibit will not be charged additional fees of any kind. Submission fees must be paid at time of entry in order to be considered for inclusion in "Petit".
IMAGE USE / COPYRIGHTS: Artist retains all copyrights to submitted images and represented artwork. Digital images submitted with artist entry are for exhibition selection only and will be deleted after completion of the selection process. By entering the competition, artists selected to exhibit grant Emerge Gallery & Art Space rights to use the selected image(s) on promotional materials including print and digital. Emerge Gallery & Art Space retains no copyrights or usage rights outside of promoting the artists and their work. Appropriate copyright information will be provided with promotional materials any time an artist's image is used.
NOTIFICATION / ACCEPTANCE OF WORK: Artists will be notified by e-mail of acceptance or non-acceptance no later than October 10, 2016. Accepted artists must deliver work to Emerge Gallery & Art Space, in person or via mail, no later than October 28, 2016.
DEADLINE: The entry deadline is October 3, 2016. Entries must be submitted via email.
ABOUT EMERGE GALLERY & ART SPACE: Emerge Gallery & Art Space focuses on exhibiting and selling art by emerging artists in the Hudson Valley, NY Metro area and beyond. Artwork changes monthly and includes works in acrylic, oil, watercolor, mixed media, collage, pottery, sculpture and other mediums. Exhibited and on-line exclusive artwork is available for sale through the Emerge Gallery website. Emerge holds monthly group exhibitions, poetry readings and other events.
