November 28, 2018 from 2-4 PM

Participation is very limited. Register by clicking here.

Inspired by the women of the 19th century who designed handmade Valentines, Patti Gibbons has been designing greeting cards for historic sites, private clients, and local specialty shops for the past 25 years. She incorporates sewing, watercolor, ink, antique, vintage, and specialty papers - to design one-of-a-kind framable works of art.

In the workshop Art of the Card, Patti will briefly discuss the origin of greeting cards, copyright law in design and reproduction, adhesives and other methods used for adhering paper, fabric, and embellishments into the work. She will also discuss the use of printing, watercolor, and photography in card design. Participants will then design their own one-of-a-kind greeting cards, whether holiday, or general greetings.

Fee for the class is $35.00, which includes 5 high quality 5 x 7” watercolor folding cards/envelopes, and materials — a variety antique and specialty papers and books, embellishments, needles/thread, glues and pens. Several watercolor sets will be available for use as well as some printing materials.

Additional cards and specialty papers and a small display of Patti’s unique work will be available for purchase. For additional information and to register, please click here.
